Community Involvement

At The Finlay Group, we feel strongly about the importance of giving back to the community. Working individually as and a team, we are involved directly with the following organizations.

 
  • Reading First - Volunteering to help transform reading into a positive event leading to literacy and improved learning for children in pre-Kindergarten through first grade classes.
  • Provincetown Art Association and Museum – A non-profit art museum located in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
  • New England Center for Homeless Veterans - Volunteer - A non-profit homeless shelter for veterans who are addressing the challenges of addiction, trauma, severe and persistent mental illness, or unemployment.
  • Maine Lakes Resource Center - Founding member and Treasurer, Board of Directors - Environmental Resource Center in the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine promoting environmental sustainability.
  • Parent & Alumni Admission Council (PAAC) - Volunteer - Interviews with prospective students for The Hotchkiss School who are unable to travel to campus.
  • ALS Foundation for Life – Board Member. Fundraising organization offering assistance to families to help ease the physical, emotional and financial burden of an ALS diagnosis.
  • Massachusetts ALS Association - Encourages scientific research to find a cure for ALS, heightens awareness of the nature of the disease, and will provide a basis for research related to the causes and cures for the disease.
  • Maine Cancer Foundation/Martha B. Webber Breast Cancer Center – Promoting and supporting scientific research and family support for individuals diagnosed with cancer. Wells Fargo Advisors, in conjunction with The Finlay Group, have been the major sponsor of the Sugarloaf Charity Summit since 2005.
  • Belgrade Lakes Association – Board of Directors. The BLA is one of the oldest lake associations in the US with a mission to “Preserve and Protect” the lakes and watershed area in the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine through “action, education and awareness”.
  • White Mountain School – Former member, Board of Trustees. Independent, private high school located in Littleton, NH, that promotes environmental awareness and sustainability through outdoor education and experiential learning.
  • National Ski Patrol, Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine – Certified member #562 and volunteer from 1993-2009. NSP is a national non-profit organization which provides emergency medical response and basic first aid care to injured skiers.
  • Allston-Brighton Little League - Assistant Coach. Volunteer assistant coach of the Yankees for the past 3 years.
